About Us

Double DAB Riding Stable, located on the western border of New York along the beautiful Chautauqua Wine Trail, offers miles of scenic trails and views of Lake Erie. In addition to being Chautauqua County's best riding stable, Double DAB offers a petting farm, pony rides, a picnic area, summer programs and special programs for scouts and clubs.

Family owned and operated by Darlene Breads, Doug Bowen and their daughter Chelsey, the Double DAB Riding Stable was established in 1982 and sits upon the same land owned by the Bowen family for several generations. The majority of the horses are bred, born, raised, and trained on this farm. As the generations come and go, both human and equine, we are constantly aware that this is truely a 'family' farm.

Over the past 25-years Double DAB has had over sixty thousand patrons and has been involved with many events within the community. Double DAB has provided Camp Onyahsa with a horsemanship program for several years. We have also provided horses for the Cardiac Camp of Buffalo and to the Girl Scouts. We have provided pony rides for Erie Insurance and have been involved with pony rides at Findley Lake. We have been involved in the Ice Castle Celebration in Mayville, and have served as leaders to the local 4H programs. We have leased horses to the Southern Tier Bird Dog Association. Additionally, we have participated in and received awards for our efforts in local parades.

We have a barn where animals live,
with horses galore and much more to give.
We go for rides and roam the trails,
fun in the sun that never fails.

We ride down the hills then up the creek,
then up the roadway to the top of the peak.
The view is so pretty the sun makes it glow,
raccoons, and chipmunks and even a doe.

Grapes and wild berries overlooking the lake,
with scenery so beautiful it almost looks fake.
Following the trail as it comes to an end
riding the horse through just one more bend.

Straight ahead, now the barn is in sight,
if they want this horse back I'll put up a fight.

After tipping my guide, the owner's hand I shook,
then I told them all I was really hooked.

As I got in my car and was driving away,
I said to myself...
What a great day!!
